Seven IPFW Students Earn National Leadership Award
(Fort Wayne, November 3, 2009) -- Seven Indiana University–Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) students recently earned Certified Student Leader® credentials at the National Conference on Student Leadership in Los Angeles. Only 50 students at the conference earned the award by scoring high on an examination of leadership skills. Amanda Parker, Elizabeth Lehmann, and Layli Magers represented the IPFW Women of the World; Jennifer Netting represented Common Difference; and Lindsay Dixson, Dolores Reese, and Kristina Stevenson represented the Indiana-Purdue Student Government Association.
The leadership exam tested candidates on the skills necessary for the effective leadership of student organizations, including running effective meetings, resolving conflicts, creating an inclusive and diverse environment, and launching successful publicity and promotional campaigns. The conference took place Oct. 21 through 25, 2009.
