IPFW Hosts Panel Discussion on Varying Religious Viewpoints

(Fort Wayne, March 3, 2009) -- Four religious leaders will join together to present “Sacred Texts Past and Present: Jewish, Christian, and Muslim Perspectives on the Meaning of Scripture,” at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW). The lecture on Thursday, March 19 from noon to 1:15 p.m. in the Remnant Trust Lecture Area (second floor of Helmke Library) is a joint effort by the IPFW University Religious Forum and The Remnant Trust at IPFW.

Rabbi Marla Joy Subeck Spanjer, rabbi at the Temple Achduth Vesholom; Imam J. Tamir Rasheed, imam at the Fort Wayne Islamic Center; Reverend Dr. Terry Anderson, senior minister of Fort Wayne Presbyterian Church; and L. Michael Spath, Ph.D., IPFW continuing professor of religious studies, will hold a panel discussion about the different religious perspectives on scripture.

The presentation is free and open to the public. A simple lunch is served; donations are accepted. Reservations are not necessary.
