Breakfast, FUN, and Italy!

(Fort Wayne, May 27, 2008) -- What's in a name? Definitely fun in the case of the Northeast Indiana Area Health Education Centers (NEI-AHEC) Folks United Nowadays (FUN) Breakfast. The breakfast on Friday, June 6, from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at Link's Wonderland, 1711 E. Creighton Ave., is open to the public. Participants will pay for their own breakfast. RSVP to Ruby Cain at 260-744-1188 or cainr@ipfw.edu.

Along with a great breakfast and intriguing dialogue, Irene Taxia will discuss Italian culture, geography, politics, and food. Taxia is the director of Multicultural Information Exchange (MIX) of the American Red Cross of Northeast Indiana and moved to Fort Wayne 2 and a half years ago. She will also talk about her transition to American culture.

The NEI-AHEC, which is sponsored by the Indiana University—Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) College of Health and Human Services, originated FUN with Study Circles Alumni in 2001. The emphasis is informal social gatherings of interracial participants focusing on friendship.

For more information, contact Ruby Cain, NEI-AHEC director, at 260-744-1188, cainr@ipfw.edu.
