IPFW Offers Adults’ Guide to Child Safety on the Internet
(Fort Wayne, May 23, 2008) -- With the popularity of sites like "My Space," "Bebo," and chat rooms, adults can learn how to keep their families safe on the Internet in a new course offered by the Indiana University—Purdue University Fort Wayne Division of Continuing Studies. Participants will discover the sites children are accessing and learn how to block sites considered inappropriate. The class is for parents, grandparents, teachers, or anyone who wants to keep children and students safe when surfing the Internet on a home computer.
The class costs $55 and will meet one time, on Wednesday, June 11, from 6 to 9 p.m. It will be taught by Todd Raines, adjunct technology instructor.
For more information, call IPFW Continuing Studies at 260-481-6619 or register online at learn.ipfw.edu. The course number is 08UCMP113.
