IPFW Student Art Receives International Exposure
(Fort Wayne, May 9, 2008) -- Indiana University—Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) student art is going international. CONTENTdm, a digital collection management software company, now features a link to IPFW's Student Art in the Library digital collection on its Web site. The recognition exposes the collection to an international community of libraries, museums, and other organizations.
Student Art in the Library is a collection of two-dimensional artwork by IPFW students. Pieces for the collection are entered in a faculty-judged competition, with the winners and other selected pieces then shown in a semester-long exhibition in Helmke Library. The pieces are also added to the Library's mastodon Digital Object Network (mDON), which preserves the prolific work of IPFW scholars, performers, athletes, guests, and community partners.
"We are truly honored and excited about this opportunity for international recognition for both our students and our digital collection," said Denise Buhr, Helmke Library reference librarian and chair of the Student Art in the Library Committee.
