6-Week Summer Fitness Classes Begin July 7 at IPFW
(Fort Wayne, June 26, 2008) -- Summer weather is here and if fitness is on your mind, Indiana University—Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) is here to help you meet your fitness goals. A new set of 6-week fitness classes begin the week of July 7 at the Gates Center on the IPFW campus. The list of classes, schedules, and fees are listed below. Sign up for more than one class and receive a ten percent discount on the second class. All classes are open to the public. Morning Sunrise Stretch, Trim, and Tone
- Overview: Rise and shine with us for better flexibility, muscle strength, and sculpted upper and lower body. The stretching and strength movements are designed to improve your whole body-especially the chest, abdominal, back, arm, and leg muscles. This class will help you build a strong, flexible, injury-free, youthful body. Wear comfortable fitness clothes and shoes. Minimum fitness level is recommended.
- When: Mondays and Wednesdays, July 7-Aug. 13, 6 to 7 a.m.
- Cost: $49 per session.

Morning Movement for Life-low impact class
- Overview: This class will emphasize balance, coordination, strength, and flexibility. All the movements will use a variety of equipment that will help increase total body strength and range of motion so you can keep doing all the your favorite activities. Wear comfortable fitness clothes and shoes. This class is great for all ages and all fitness levels.
- When: Tuesdays and Thursdays, July 8-Aug. 14, 9 to 9:45 a.m.
- Cost: $37 per session.
- Instructor: Beverly Ade, CAI
Mid-Day Yoga Stress Break
- Overview: Take a mid-day break and enjoy head-to-toe stress-relieving, strength-building exercises. A combination of stretches, breathing exercises, BLT (butt, legs, and tummy) strength movements, balance training, and guided imagery thoughts will offer mental and physical tension release for better wellness. Wear comfortable fitness clothes and shoes. Minimal fitness level is required.
- When: Mondays and Wednesdays, July 7-Aug. 13, 12:15 to 1 p.m.
- Cost: $37 per session.
