IPFW Hosts "The Role of the Black Church in the 2008 Presidential Election"

(Fort Wayne, Jan. 30, 2008) -- Community leaders will gather at Indiana University—Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) to discuss the upcoming presidential election and what part the black church plays in it. The session "The Role of the Black Church in the 2008 Presidential Election" will take place Friday, Feb. 8, at 7 p.m. in the IPFW Walb Student Union, Room 222. It is free and open to the public.

Panelists include Rev. Michael Latham of Renaissance Baptist Church and president of the Fort Wayne NAACP; Rev. Angela Shannon of Trinity Lutheran Church; Rev. Timothy Williams of Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church; and Rev. Rebecca Fisher of Faith United Methodist Church. Ken Christmon, IPFW associate vice chancellor for diversity and multicultural affairs, will moderate. The program is sponsored by the IPFW Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs and is part of Black History Month.
