Science Central’s Lunch with an IPFW Scientist Series Features “The Biggest Turtle You’ll Never Eat” for February

(Fort Wayne, Jan. 28, 2008) -- Escape from the cold weather of Fort Wayne by attending the next Science Central Lunch with an IPFW Scientist session to learn about sea turtles and crocodiles in Costa Rica. Frank Paladino, IPFW Jack W. Schrey Distinguished Professor of Biology, will host "The Biggest Turtle You'll Never Eat" Saturday, Feb. 9, at Science Central, 1950 N. Clinton, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The program is open to the public at a cost of $15 per person; $8 for Science Central members. Lunch is included.

Professor Paladino will explore how sea turtles and crocodiles in Costa Rica migrate and much more. He will also explain how he uses satellites to track and understand marine animals in the ocean.

The Science Central Lunch with an IPFW Scientist Series is designed for families with young people ages 8 and up, and plants in both the young and most seasoned participant a budding interest in science. After each presentation, which includes a hands-on activity, participants enjoy lunch with the presenter.
