IPFW Hosts FUN Breakfast with Diversity Discussion

(Fort Wayne, Feb. 22, 2008) -- For a great breakfast and intriguing dialogue about diversity, join the Indiana University—Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) Northeast Indiana Area Health Education Center (NEI-AHEC) and the IPFW Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs for the Folks United Nowadays (FUN) Breakfast Fri., March 7, from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at Link's Wonderland, 1711 E. Creighton Ave. The breakfast is free and open to the public.

The topic of the breakfast is "Lifting As We Climb: The History of African-American Organizations, Nationally and Locally." Patrick Ashton, IPFW associate professor of sociology, will discuss the historical perspective as well as the dual agenda prevalent in most African-American organizations. Joan Baines, Health Visions of Fort Wayne program manager, will discuss the National Federation of Colored Women.
