Celebrating a Year of Achievement for IPFW’s ASAP! Program

(Fort Wayne, April 10, 2008) -- With a year of hard work and a lot of learning under their belts, Indiana University—Purdue University Fort Wayne's (IPFW) students of the Academic Student Achievement Program (ASAP!) will celebrate with an end-of-the-year celebration Wednesday, April 16, from noon to 1 p.m. in the Walb Student Union Ballroom. It is free and open to the public; reservations are requested by contacting 260-481-6608 or dousec@ipfw.edu.

The Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs will honor students, faculty, and staff who participated in the yearlong program, "Degree: Possible; Code Name: Student Success; Mission: Graduation." The celebration will include keynote speaker Lethia Owens, life coach and organizational strategist, and an hors d'oeuvres reception immediately following.

ASAP! is a retention initiative for a diverse group of students including those of various ethnicities, ages, and socio-economic statuses. It focuses on academic monitoring, student and leadership development, and career and professional development. ASAP! offers retention talks for students to share their experiences.
