Mastodonny Appleseed to go on Sale Sept. 15

(Fort Wayne, September 11, 2007) -- Two years ago, 102 Mastodons on Parade were scattered all over Fort Wayne, celebrating Fort Wayne's first community art project, which was Indiana University—Purdue University Fort Wayne's 40th anniversary present to the community. A number of months later, IPFW offered the first in a series of limited edition collectibles. Splatodon was a big hit and sold out very quickly.

The second collectible in the series, Mastodonny Appleseed, will go on sale just outside the official entrance to the Johnny Appleseed Festival this weekend, Saturday, Sept. 15, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 16, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The cost of the five-inch tall, seven-inch-long collectible is $40, including tax. Payment may be made by cash, check (made out to IPFW), or VISA, MasterCard, or Discover credit cards.

After the festival, Mastodonny Appleseed will be available for sale on the IPFW campus, beginning at 11 a.m. in Kettler Hall, Room 158.

The next collectible in the series, Matisse-todon, is currently in production and is expected to arrive later this fall for the holiday season.
