IU Business Outlook Panel to Offer 2008 Economic Forecast at IPFW

(Fort Wayne, October 19, 2007) -- The IU Alumni Chapter of Northeast Indiana and the Richard Doermer School of Business and Management Sciences at Indiana University—Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) will host the IU Business Outlook Panel Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007, at 11:30 a.m. The event will be held at the Walb Student Union Ballroom on the IPFW campus.

The IU Business Outlook panel will offer national, state, and local economic forecasts for 2008. The starting point for the forecast is the Econometric Model of the United States, developed by IU's Center for Econometric Model Research, which analyzes numerous statistics to develop a national forecast for the coming year. The center's Econometric Model of Indiana provides a corresponding forecast of where the state's economy is headed. The Business Outlook Panel then adjusts the forecast to reflect additional insights they have on the economic situation.

The panel members will include Jerry Conover, director of the Indiana Business Research Center; John Stafford, director of the Community Research Institute at IPFW; William Sartoris, professor of finance at Kelley School of Business, Indiana University; Willard Witte, associate professor in the Department of Economics at Indiana University; and John Wellington, dean of the Richard T. Doermer School of Business and Management Sciences at IPFW, as moderator.

Lunch will be provided by Catablu. The cost is $25 per guest, or $200 for a table of ten. For reservations contact the IPFW Alumni office at 260-481-6807, or e-mail prices@ipfw.edu.
