Renowned Scholar Speaks on Intuitionistic Logic at IPFW
(Fort Wayne, March 16, 2007) -- David Charles McCarty, renowned mathematics and logic scholar, will speak about "Incompleteness for Intuitionistic Logic" at Indiana University—Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) Wednesday, March 21, in Kettler Hall, Room 218. He will present his research to the math department at noon and to the philosophy department at 6 p.m. Both presentations are free and open to the public.
McCarty, an Indiana University philosophy professor, is a Fellow of the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD) and has received the Dio Lewis Holl Prize in mathematics and a Kierkegaard Fellowship in philosophy. He also earned a doctoral degree in philosophy from Oxford University.
The lecture is sponsored by the IPFW math and philosophy departments and is part of the philosophy department's annual speaker series.
