IPFW Hosts Flu Pandemic Discussion
(Fort Wayne, Sept. 18, 2006) -- Indiana University—Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) will host the first in a series of open discussions: “Allen County Prepares: Essentials of Pandemic Flu,” Tuesday, Sept. 19, at 6:30 p.m. in the Walb Student Union Ballroom.
Allen County Health Commissioner Dr. Deborah McMahan, who is also an IPFW alumna, will be the featured speaker. Each of the discussion locations will feature information booths, and a total of one thousand free “flu kits” will be handed out.
Other locations and dates are:
Sept. 26, 6:30 p.m. at Wayne High School; Oct. 2, 7 p.m. at Park Hill
Center, New Haven; Oct. 9, 7 p.m. at Homestead High School; and Oct. 13, 1
p.m. at the Fort Wayne Community Center.
The discussions are jointly sponsored by the Fort Wayne-Allen County
Department of Health, IPFW, Parkview Hospital, Lutheran Health Network,
Volunteer Center, Medical Reserve Corps, The American Red Cross, CVS
Pharmacy, Scott’s Pharmacy, Kroger Pharmacy, Walgreens Pharmacy, and Meijer
