Jungle Don Makes Tracks to Zoo Gates

(Fort Wayne, May 11, 2005) -- For over a week strange sounds were coming from the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo. These were not the normal nocturnal cries of the various animals and birds that live at the zoo. These were the cries of an unhappy mastodon!

Why was Jungle Don unhappy? He really liked being inside the zoo, where he could see the modern-day relatives of creatures he used to run around with. But something was missing: He wanted to be outside the fences!

IPFW’s office of University Relations and Communications received word today that Jungle Don “made tracks” and left the confines of the zoo and is now outside the gates, where he can see everyone and everyone can see him!
