
Don't Miss the Excitement of the IPFW Percussion Ensemble
(Fort Wayne, April 22, 2004) -- The IPFW Department of Music will present its final concert of the season, featuring the Percussion Ensemble on Thursday, April 29 at 7:30 p.m. in Neff Recital Hall. The Percussion Ensemble highlights students concentrating on percussion instruments including the marimba, vibraphone and xylophone. The Percussion Ensemble is directed by Braham Dembar, principle percussionist for the Fort Wayne Philharmonic.
The upcoming concert will feature Bravura for Percussion Ensemble by Philip Faini; Elegy by Gordon Stout; Five Children's Songs by Ney Rosauro; Concerto for Marimba and Percussion Ensemble by Ney Rosauro; and Toccata for Percussion by Carlos Chavez.
Chromatic Fox-Trot and Cross Corners by George Hamilton Green will be featured as will as four soloists including Brandon Ford, marimba and vibraphone, Ben Hoover, xylophone, Mike Magdich, xylophone, and Sean Rollins, marimba.
The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 29 in Neff Recital Hall. Admission for IPFW students with ID is free, $4 for adults, $3 seniors and $1 for all other students.
