ETCS Students Present Senior Design Projects

(Fort Wayne, April 15, 2004) -- Beginning Monday, April 19, senior students in various programs in the College of Engineering, Technology, and Computer Science (ETCS) will begin the semi-annual event of presenting their senior design projects. ETCS Dean Gerard Voland believes the presentations allow the students to put to practical use what they've learned in their classes. "I firmly believe that engineers, no matter what their area of expertise, are always finding ways to make life better for others; whether it's with a new design element that is used in the space program, or new ways to make highway bridges last longer, engineers are always coming up with ideas to improve things."

On Monday, April 19, beginning at noon in the Gates Center, Room 104, students in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering will make their presentations, completing them on Tuesday, April 20.

On Thursday, April 29, Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology will make their presentations in the Engineering and Technology Building (ET), Room 315, beginning at 8:30 a.m. and concluding by 1:30 p.m.

The senior design presentations in Mechanical Engineering Technology and Industrial Engineering Technology will begin at 9 a.m. on Friday, April 30, in ET 115 and conclude by 2 p.m.

The senior students in Civil and Architectural Engineering Technology will present their joint project on Friday, May 7, in Kettler Hall, Room 178, beginning at 11:30 a.m.
