IPFW Student Art Receives International Exposure
(Fort Wayne, May 9, 2008) -- Indiana University—Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) student art is going international. CONTENTdm, a digital collection management software company, now features a link to IPFW's Student Art in the Library digital collection on its Web site. The recognition exposes the collection to an international community of libraries, museums, and other organizations.
Local Teachers Win Future City Awards at IPFW
(Fort Wayne, May 7, 2008) -- Three local middle school teachers, Nick Balmoria of Blackhawk Middle School, Richard Flickinger of Leo Jr/Sr High School, and Bob Brothers of Canterbury, were honored with an award sponsored by Indiana University—Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) College of Engineering, Technology, and Computer Science (ETCS) and Indiana Michigan Power (I&M) at the 2008 Indiana Regional Future City Competition. All three teachers and their schools have been participating in Future City for eight years and have consistently excelled in the competition. Their respective schools received a monetary award on their behalf.

Going Green in the City for 14 IPFW Students

A simple campus lecture has led to an exciting, educational, and environmentally friendly opportunity for the SSA and IPFW.
Harry Potter and Popular Culture: What Muggles Can Learn From Harry Potter
(Fort Wayne, May 6, 2008) -- The Hogwarts Express is coming to Indiana University—Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) this summer for two courses about J.K. Rowling's bestselling and record-breaking Harry Potter series. Participants will explore the novels via literary analysis and social constructs, including the media's scrutiny of the series and the examination of teaching styles found at Hogwarts. The courses are open to high school students and adults who seek a serious approach to the study of Harry Potter. High school students receive a $10 discount.
IPFW ROTC Cadets Receive Awards

IPFW Grad, Two Professors Receive Fulbright Scholarships
(Fort Wayne, May 6, 2008) -- Three members of the Indiana University—Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) family will be studying abroad for the 2008-09 academic year, thanks to the Fulbright Scholars program. Brandon Gearhart will spend next year in South Korea teaching English and culture to high school students.
CSI: IPFW - Forensic Science and Summer Fun
(Fort Wayne, May 6, 2008) -- Move over New York, Miami, and Las Vegas - "CSI: IPFW" has made its way to Fort Wayne. Indiana University—Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) will offer its annual Summer Youth Program: Life After High School with a focus on forensic science to area high school students. The program provides a fun summer activity, guidance on opportunities after high school, and an introduction to college life.
Summer Fitness Classes Begin May 19 at IPFW
(Fort Wayne, May 2, 2008) -- Now that spring is fully sprung, it's time to get in shape for the summer. Indiana University—Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) is offering a series of fitness classes which can make your transition to summer activities a smooth one. Two sessions of six-week classes begin May 19 and continue through the middle of Aug.. The classes have separate fees, however, if you sign up for more than one class you will receive a ten percent discount on the second class. All the classes are open to the public. Five IPFW Students Awarded Space Grant Scholarships
(Fort Wayne, May 1, 2008) -- Five Indiana University—Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) students have each been awarded $2,500 scholarships from the Indiana Space Grant Consortium (INSGC). The students and their majors are Jon Kline, mechanical engineering technology; April Danusis, computer engineering technology; Jennika Laird, computer engineering technology; Chris Woodard, information systems; and Alex Leavitt, civil engineering technology.
IPFW Seeks Public Input on New Strategic Plan
(Fort Wayne, May 1, 2008) -- Indiana University—Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) wants to know what the public thinks of its newly drafted strategic plan for 2008-13. The draft plan will be presented in an open forum Wednesday, May 7, from 4 to 6 p.m. in Kettler Hall, Room 178. The forum is free and open to the public.
2008 Purdue Honorary Degree Recipients Announced
