Blue Ash is found in Indiana only rarely, and then usually on stream bluffs. Fruit and foliage resemble Black Ash except that foliage is greenish-yellow, and young branches are 4-angled and square. Leaves have 7 to 11 stalked leaflets. The Emerald Ash Borer has been found in Indiana! This insect, accidentally introduced from Asia, is lethal to all native Ash species, and the potential for destruction of native Ash trees rivals that of Dutch Elm Disease on American Elm.
