Ms. Smith began her career on June 14, 1950 at the Purdue Center, then located at Jefferson and Barr Streets. She retired on September 4, 2003. Her 53 years of continuous service to IPFW is the longest tenure of any faculty or staff in Purdue History. A scholarhip fund, the Ezel Smith Diversity Scholarship, was set up in her honor. Ms. Smith passed away on February 4, 2009.
