Bickley, Carl E.

Dr. Bickley came to the university in 1960 as assistant director of the Purdue University Extension Center in Fort Wayne. In 1962 he left as a consultant to the Fort Wayne Community Schools and returned to IPFW in 1966 as assistant dean and director of the Division of General and Technical Studies (known as DGTS and pronounced as "Digits"). He served in a number of assignments until his death on December 18,1985. At that time he was director of development and assistant to the chancellor for athletics. He was born on September 19, 1924. He received degrees from Indiana State University (B.S., 1949) and Indiana University (M.S., 1955; Ed.D., 1958).
