Professor Clausen came to IPFW in 1970 and became assistant vice chancellor for academic affairs 1997-2001. In 2001 she became associate vice-chancellor for academic affairs. She received degrees from the University of Wisconsin, (B.A., 1963) and Indiana University (M.A., 1996; Ph.D., 1975). She taught German before becoming an assistant vice chancellor for academic affairs. Her area of research includes women writers of the German Democratic Republic.
