Beineke, Lowell W.

Dr. Beineke taught mathematics from 1965-    . He received degrees from Purdue University (B.S., 1961) and the University of Michigan (M.S., 1962; Ph.D., 1965). He was an international scholar in graph theory. He held the Jack W. Schrey chair as professor of mathematical sciences. He was recipient of the Amoco Foundation Outstanding Teaching Award in 1978, and the 1992 Outstanding Teacher Award. He was a member of the Twenty-Fifth Anniversary Committee and was a charter member and first president of Phi Kappa Phi.
