Those who attended this event learned more about a pivotal time in American history and honor the Voting Rights Act of 1965. President Lyndon B. Johnson's extraordinary March 1965 speech, in which he urged Congress to pass a voting rights bill, was considered, and this was followed by a panel discussion about the Act featuring experts from the College of Arts and Sciences (COAS) faculty and the community. Musical entertainment was also provided. This enlightening event was a collaboration between COAS faculty, IPFW staff, and community leaders.
