COURSE
OBJECTIVES: At the end of the course,
students should:

Have a better overall
understanding of functions and their graphical, numerical, analytical, and
verbal representations

Be able to mechanically
calculate derivatives of simple functions and combinations of functions

Understand definite
integrals as areas
·
Understanding the
relationship between derivatives and integrals
·
Use technology
appropriately to gain insight into the solution of a problem
·
Be able to see
functions in real-world applications and to develop models in this context
understand derivatives as rates of change and in the context of local linearity

Have improved skills at
problem solving and critical thinking

writing and explaining math
QUIZZES: There will be between five and ten quizzes.
EXAMS: There will three one-hour exams and a two-hour comprehensive
final.
