Announcement from the Chair |
Invited Speakers:
Mike Bolt (Calvin College)
and
Nicoleta Tarfulea (Purdue University Calumet)
This is a "Save the Date!" announcement for the upcoming fall meeting of the Indiana section of the Mathematical Association of America on October 17, 2009!
The fall meeting will be held on the south campus of Purdue University Calumet, near Merrillville and Crown Point. The format of the meeting will be about the same as in previous years (fall), with a program going from about 8 or 9am into the early afternoon, bookended by two invited talks, and lunch in there somewhere, too! Our invited speakers this year are Michael Bolt from Calvin College and Nicoleta Tarfulea from Purdue University Calumet.
Stay tuned in the near future for more specific details and a call for submissions to the contributed paper sessions. As usual, this is a particularly good forum for students to get a friendly experience giving presentations.
If anyone wants a jump on lodging, we have 15 rooms reserved under the name "Indiana Section MAA" at the Comfort Suites 1344 East 83rd Ave, Merrillville, IN 46410. The rate is $90 which includes a continental breakfast. The phone number is 219-736-9500. There are many other hotels in the area as well.
Cheers,
Ken Luther
