The Certificates of Meritorious Service are presented for service to the MAA at the national level or for service to a Section of the Association. The first such awards were made in 1984. At each January meeting of the Association, honorees from roughly six Sections are recognized. 1984 - Gerhard N. Wollan 1989 - Rodney T. Hood 1994 - Paul Mielke 1999 - Billy E. Rhoades 2004 - Underwood Dudley 2009 - Carl Cowen The next turn for the Indiana Section will be 2014, with nominations in 2013.
