Fall 2007 - Newsletter Editor Statement

I would like to encourage you to attend the Fall Meeting, the strength of the sectional meetings depend on the participation of the section membership. We have a great invited speaker, John Swallow, giving two talks one on Circular Irrationalities and one on the History of Fermat's Last Theorem.

There is little news from your Liaisons and Chairs about the happenings at your institutions. I don't really believe that, please make sure the happenings at your institution make it into the Newsletter.

The Newsletter continues to evolve in its new web format. This year we will add, besides pictures, meeting blurbs and synopsis, so those who miss the meeting will have some idea what you missed. We have started to add pictures from meetings, and will continue to add pictures from future meetings. If you bring a digital camera, to the meeting and take pictures, please send copies of your pictures to the Newsletter Editor for inclusion in the Newsletter. I will be looking for pictures from the Fall Meeting, so if you have any please send them to the Newsletter Editor.

More solitications for columns, updates on programs, et cetera, like some of the information that occurs in MAA Focus and MAA Online, but concerning the Indiana Section of the MAA in particular, and Indiana Colleges and Universities will be forthcoming.
