MAP-Works at IPFW
IPFW cares about students and their transition to and success in college. With MAP-Works, we find out early how we can help you succeed. Knowing this information early means we can coordinate faculty/staff outreach to focus students on successful behaviors – making your journey through college much more positive.
What is MAP-Works?
MAP-Works®, is a comprehensive student retention and success program. MAP-Works® identifies students early in the semester allowing for immediate support and intervention from advisors, coaches, resident advisors and other campus support services.
How does MAP-Works work?
MAP-Works® integrates profile and student experience data to get an accurate identification of the students we need to reach out to.
Students will be invited to take an online survey
Students are measured on a variety of research based factors including their academic and social integration to the campus, entering skills and abilities, and expectations of their college experience.
Students gain access to personalized reports and tools
Students are immediately linked to their web-based customized report that identifies discrepancies between their expectations and the academic and social behaviors necessary to succeed. Results are benchmarked against the first-year cohort to help them better understand their strengths and weaknesses. This interactive report aligns behaviors with outcomes, enhances self-awareness through social norming, and connects students with our campus resources and support services.
Faculty and staff connect with students
Academic advisors, student success coaches, resident advisors, faculty, instructors and student affairs staff follow up with students to refer them to resources and connect them with other students, programs and events.
