Where can I learn about communication options available at IPFW?

How can I create and administer an online survey? Go to http://www.its.ipfw.edu/resources/qualtrics/ for more information about using the Qualtrics system. You will need to know your Purdue Career Account username and password, which you can get from a helpdesk@ipfw.edu consultant.

How do I decide what is best for my course and for my teaching? CELT consultants are happy to discuss with you options that will best match your objectives, and if you wish, can help you implement the communications tool or tools that you choose. Call CELT at 481-6504.

Who do I call if I have a problem with technology I am using in the classroom? If you are in a classroom with a touch screen display on the podium, press the Help button and a technician will come to your aid. If the classroom does not have a touch screen, or if you have a problem with a computer or projector on a cart, call the Classroom Support Hotline at 481-6969. You may call 481-6030 as an alternate. If you have difficulty after 5:00 p.m. with equipment that was delivered to your class , please dial “0" for the KT information desk and they will contact an Audio Visual Technology Services (AVTS) staff member.

Which classrooms have/do not have installed technology? Classrooms with technology installed are listed on the “Information Technology Resources, Classroom Technology” web page at http://www.its.ipfw.edu/resources/facilities/classtech/locations.shtml.

How do I get computers, projectors, and other audio visual technologies brought to the classroom? For classrooms that without installed technology, consult Audio Visual Technology Services (AVTS) at http://www.ipfw.edu/avtech or 481-6519 in SB G43 to arrange for equipment delivery to your classroom. If you use the site's online reservation form, your request will be processed the next business day in the order received. You may make “standing requests” for a semester. The site also has details on what equipment is available.

Where can I scan a document or image for use in a classroom? To learn more about ITS' self-serve flatbed scanner for faculty/staff use, go to http://www.its.ipfw.edu/support/scanners.shtml. CELT has a self-serve flatbed, document, and slide scanner, and you can contact Darlene Miller to request training and assistance with the scanning. Request a technology consultation via http://www.ipfw.edu/celt/forms/TechConsultRequest.shtml. The Department of Anthropology can scan large numbers of slides, providing you are willing to help defray some of the operating costs and have a long lead time. Contact http://www.ipfw.edu/anthropology/contact/default.shtml for more information. Student Labs also have scanners. Who do I call to schedule a computer lab for teaching my class? To schedule a teaching lab call Linda McGehee in the Registrar’s office at 1-6123. For a description of the teaching labs and a copy of an instructor’s guide go to the “Information Technology Resources, Computer Teaching Labs” web page at http://www.its.ipfw.edu/resources/facilities/tlabs/default.shtml. Please be aware that the use of Neff B73 requires a special instructor's username and password which is provided by the Registrar's Office when scheduling the room.

Can I schedule a lab with Apple Macintosh computers for teaching my class? To schedule NF B73, which features high end Apple Macintosh computers, call Linda McGehee in the Registrar’s office at 1-6123.

Who do I call when there are technology problems in the lab where I am teaching? If you have problems when you are using the Neff computer classrooms, contact the Help Desk 481-6030 or the student consultant in Neff B71 481-5431, if on duty during your class. Please be aware that student consultants may not be on duty during the first week of classes).

Where do I go to get pencil and paper-based tests scored? Test scoring and data analysis services are available at the CELT office located in Kettler Hall, room 234. Self-service Scantron machines are available in various buildings throughout campus. Go to http://www.ipfw.edu/celt/testscoring.shtml for more information.

How can I administer tests online? To learn about the different software applications you might use, contact an Academic Technology consultant. Find contact information at the ITS About Us> User Technology Support page at http://www.its.ipfw.edu/about/uts.shtml.

How do I report my final grades? You will use OASIS to report all final grades. Go to http://my.ipfw.edu and use your login to go to the MyIpfw “portal." Click on the Faculty/Advisor tab, and then click on the “Online access to Student Information System” link in the Oasis-Banner box in the upper right corner of the display of portal contents.
