How do I login to the IPFW system using the wireless network? If your portable device has a wireless network chip or card, go to the “Wireless” web page at http://www.its.ipfw.edu/wireless/default.shtml to learn where the wireless network is active and how to configure your machine to use it. Guest access may also be obtained and information about that is available at the same place.

How do I get my Purdue Career account login and password? Send an email to helpdesk@ipfw.edu with the words “Purdue Career Account Password Reset Request” in the Subject line. The Helpdesk staff will start the process for you. You will need this account to see your pay stubs.

How do I get a Blackboard Vista account? Every faculty member is assigned an account in the Blackboard Vista course management system, which is housed on the “eLearning” server. You use your IPFW login to access your Blackboard Vista account. Go to the “eLearning” web page at http://elearning.ipfw.edu, for information about training, for documentation, and to login to your account.

How do I get a Web site? Employees can go to the “Information Technology Resources, Web Space at IPFW” web page at http://www.its.ipfw.edu/resources/web/default.shtml or Students can go to the “Information Technology Resources, Student Web Space at IPFW” web page at http://www.its.ipfw.edu/resources/web/studentweb.shtml. A web site is available to anyone on the World Wide Web while your Blackboard Vista space is only accessible to registered students and other to whom you choose to allow access.

How do I get an Adobe Connect account? Adobe Connect allows any computer connected to the Internet and equipped with a webcam to function as a web-based videoconferencing tool. To learn more about Adobe Connect, visit http://www.ipfw.edu/celt/technology/software.shtml. To set up an account, go to http://www.its.ipfw.edu/resources/connect/.

What software is available at university-owned machines connected to IPFW’s local area network (LAN)? For a list of the software available on your IPFW computer go to the “Information Technology Resources, Faculty-Staff Software (IPFW Icons)” web page at http://www.its.ipfw.edu/resources/software/ipfwiconssoftware.shtml. You can get to this software by clicking on the Start button in the lower left corner of your Windows screen. Students should go to the “Information Technology Resources, Student-Access Lab Software” web page at http://www.its.ipfw.edu/resources/software/labsoftware.shtml for a list of software available in the student computing labs.

Will students have to convert their existing IPFW email to a Google account? Yes, all students must convert their IPFW email account by 2 Oct 2009, even if they don't use it or use it to forward their email to a different account. Direct students to http://googleapps.ipfw.edu for more information.
