P. for F112: F111. Introduction to French language as well as to French and francophone cultures. Emphasis on development of communicative competence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Survey of autobiographical literature from the Renaissance to present. Texts by writers such as Montaigne, Rousseau, Sand, Sartre, Duras, and Djebar will be studied considering the ways in which self-representation has changed and has stayed the same through the centuries.
