The Master Promissory Note (MPN) is just what it sounds like; a promise to repay your loans after you leave school. Your lender will not disburse (pay out) your student loan funds until the MPN is done.
IPFW will not notify you if a Master Promissory Note (MPN) is needed. It is your responsibility to follow up with your lender.
Effective Fall, 2009, IPFW published a preferred list of lenders who have met the following criteria:
The lenders on the IPFW Preferred Lender list are:
If you choose a preferred lender, you can complete your Master Promissory Note online at FastChoice.
You are welcome to choose any lender who participates in the Stafford Loan program, however, if you choose a lender not on the Preferred Lender list, you must contact the lender to find out how to complete the Master Promissory Note.
Note: IPFW is not notified if a new master promissory note is needed. It is the student's responsibility to contact their lender to make sure all requirements are met before the disbursement date.
Perkins Loan Master Promissory Note (MPN) must be completed through Educational Computer Systems, Inc (ECSI). The MPN is your promise to pay your loans back after you graduate or cease half-time enrollment.
Perkins loan funds will not disburse without the MPN.
You will receive an email at your IPFW student email address that has instructions on how to access ECSI's web site and complete your eMPN and entrance interview. If you have problems logging in to ECSI's website, you can contact them at 1.888.549.ECSI (3274)
