Federal Grants

There are many grants from the Federal Government that student may apply for through FAFSA. Grants are need-based aid, so not all students are eligible. If you are eligible for a grant, it will show online when we award you.

There are different types of grants with different criteria. Here is a list of the federal grants:

Pell Grant

  • The Pell grant is based on financial need
  • A student’s Estimated Family Contribution (EFC) from their FAFSA must be a figure of 4100 or less to be eligible to receive the Pell grant
  • The Pell grant varies depending on what your EFC is and how many classes you are taking
  • Your Pell grant is locked in at however many credit hours you are enrolled in at the end of the first week of classes
  • Any pell grant funds that are not used in either fall or spring term will be available for you to use in the summer

Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant (SEOG)

  • SEOG is only awarded to undergraduate students.
  • You must have exceptional financial need and be eligible for Pell grant
  • Awards are only made to students who meet priority filing deadlines.
  • We receive limited funding, so not all eligible students will receive it.
