2017-2018 IPFW Academic Scholarships for Undergraduate International Students

The IPFW Academic scholarships are awarded to incoming freshman and transfer students who meet specific criteria. No application is required, students who qualify will be notified by the IPFW Office of International Education.

IPFW Merit Scholarship

For out-of-state beginning students and transfer students who meet the following criteria (Students from Ohio Reciprocity Counties are not Eligible):

  • $7,500.00 Tuition Award Per Year
  • No Application Required

Beginner/Freshmen Students:

High School Criteria

  • Minimum SAT score of 1800 (old SAT)/1290 (new SAT)
  • ACT score of 27
  • TOEFL score of 87
  • IELTS score of 7.0


  • High school GPA 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

Transfer Student Criteria:

  • Completion of 24 transferable credit hours with completion of college level math and English
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

Requirements for Scholarship Renewal

The IPFW Merit Scholarship can be renewed up to four years of undergraduate studies if students do the following:

  • Maintain full-time status*
  • Complete 30 credit hours towards your degree annually
  • Achieve and maintain satisfactory academic progress each term

*Full-time status is 12 credit hours for undergraduates.  Students who complete 12 credit hours in the fall and spring and do not take summer courses will not meet the annual 30 credit hour requirement.

Students who have completed the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor's degree are not eligible for the IPFW Merit Award for undergraduate students.
