The materials for English W130 listed below were assembled by Bill Petroff and Jennifer Stewart in the spring of 2006. All the materials below were created in Microsoft Word. Each file should open in a separate window. In the handouts, any area marked in yellow indicates a place where the instructor should add information (such as office hours) or clarify information (which text to use). Instructors at IPFW are welcome to use and modify the materials as needed.The materials include syllabi, calendars, and assignments.

Outcomes for W130
All instructors must include four sets of outcomes in their syllabi for English W130. Feel free to cut and paste from the outcomes sheet.

Two sets of syllabi
One syllabus uses g a portfolio system for evaluating student papers. The other syllaubs uses a non-portfolio evaluation system. You might want to compare the two systems.

Two calendars
Since there are two textbook options for W130, we have a calendar for each. One calendar lists readings assignments for The Concise Guide to Writing and the other for The Trouble Shooting Guide for Writers. There are additional readings available for The Trouble Shooting Guide - ask Janine for copies.
