Chicago Shakespeare Theater Trip

Spring 2009: Twelfth Night

Shipwrecked twins off the coast of Illyria set this tale of mistaken identity and unlikely love into relentless motion. Along in the World, Viola disguises herself as a boy and falls hopelessly in love with the Duke she serves, while he is enamored of the Countess Olivia whose adoring gaze lands instead upon the Duke's new page. Add to the mix a brooding steward in yellow stockings named Malvolio and the saucy Sir Toby, and the stage is set for Shakespeare's marvelous comedy about the human condition.

Michael Stapleton, IPFW's Chapman Distinguished Professor of English, will host the bus trip to Chicago's Navy Pier for the performance. Professor Stapleton will give a brief introductory lecture about Twelfth Night en route to Chicago. The bus will arrive early at Chicago's Navy Pier to allow time for shopping, sightseeing, and lunch.
