Professional Background

Jeong-il Cho received her Ph.D. in Special Education from the University of Iowa in 2007. Her research focuses on peer relations among students with and without disabilities: friendship perspectives and bullying status/behavior patterns of Middle and High School students with and without behavioral disorders (BD). Dr. Cho believes that with increased placement of students with disabilities, students with BD in particular, in inclusive education settings, identifying protective factors is more critical than ever.

Currently Dr. Cho is an assistant professor of Special Education at the Department of Professional Studies at Indiana University Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW). She teaches an undergraduate course (Schools, Society, & Exceptionality) and a dual-level (undergraduate/graduate) course (Introduction to Learning Disabilities/ Survey of Mild Handicaps).
