Professional Background

Dr. Bangel is an Assistant Professor in the IPFW School of Education. She is the instructor for EDUC P251, Educational Psychology for Elementary Teachers, within the Team I program. She has also taught graduate level Educational Psychology courses (P507 and P570). She has spent the last five years as a coordinator of youth programs for the Gifted Education Resource Institute at Purdue University. Her research and writing foci are on educational issues of preservice teachers and high-ability P-12 students. She is a member of the National Association for Gifted Children, Indiana Association for the Gifted, and the American Educational Research Association. Dr. Bangel is the recent recipient of the NAGC Doctoral Student Award for her research in gifted education.
