Welcome...
...to Distance Learning at Indiana University - Purdue University Fort Wayne .
From single courses to complete programs, IPFW offers a growing number of educational opportunities through distance learning for both undergraduate and graduate work. Distance Learning courses are distributed via the Internet using Blackboard Vista, purchased and/or mailed Videos and DVDs, Channel 5 Television Station, or by participation in one of our studio courses sent to a remote location.
So far in 2005 IPFW has had over 7900 enrollments in our Distance Learning Programs. This is a 25% increase over 2004. Although I'm very excited about this growth and the technology to allow more access to students like you; I also realize that with growth comes additional challenges. One of our challenges for 2005 is to provide you with as much information as possible to be successful in the Distance Learning Program.
Distance Learning Team have worked hard to develop this tool for your use. It provides information such as:
- Strategies for Successful Distance Learning.
- Getting Started with Blackboard Vista
- An introduction to Library services
- Password Activation or Problems
- How to get textbooks
- Expectations from your Distance Learning professor.
and numerous other tools. I hope that you will take a few minutes to review the content of this CD. We feel that it will make the difference between a satisfactory course and an exception learning experience.
Thanks for choosing IPFW for your Distance Learning courses and I hope you'll have a great semester!
