Stocks
You can make a gift of stock or securities to IPFW. The procedure you follow depends upon who holds your securities.
Securities Held By You
(Stock certificate already issued in your name)
- Endorse each certificate on the back to Indiana-Purdue Foundation
- Sign your name exactly as it appears on the face of the certificate and have your signature guaranteed by an officer of a bank or your broker.
- Mail or hand deliver the certificates and a letter describing how you want your gift used to:
Development Office
Attn: Business Manager
Indiana University—Purdue University Fort Wayne
Kettler Hall 140
2101 E. Coliseum Blvd.
Fort Wayne, IN 46805
Determining the date of your gift:
- For certificates sent by mail, the date of your gift will be the postmark date that the certificates are mailed to IPFW.
- For hand-delivered certificates, the date of your gift will be the date that the certificates are delivered to IPFW.

Securities Held By Your Broker
(Stock is held in your account at a bank/brokerage)
Instruct your broker to telephone Phil Grote, IPFW Comptroller, at 260-481-6322 or e-mail grote@ipfw.edu to determine if IPFW or its related foundation has an account at your brokerage house. If there is an account, your broker can transfer your gifted shares to that account. If there is no existing account, IPFW likely will open an account to which shares may be transferred. The date of the gift will be the date that the securities arrive in IPFW's account.
Please notify the IPFW Development office identifying the brokerage firm, the securities transferred, and the purpose of the gift.
