
Outstanding Teacher Award
The purpose of the award is to honor a faculty member for outstanding teaching performance in all phases of university instruction. The faculty member honored will have demonstrated ability in communicating chosen material to students and stimulating student desire to master the material. the teacher will also have recognized that his/her teaching responsibility to students does not stop at the classroom door and therefore, will have been ready to aid and motivate them in a counseling and advisory capacity, either formally or informally.
Selection is by a committee comprised of the academic vice chancellor or designee, a representative from the Friends of Indiana University—Purdue University Fort Wayne, and recipients of the Friends Award for the last five years.
The Friends of Indiana University—Purdue University Fort Wayne Outstanding Teacher Award is presented at the Fall Convocation each year.
