Educational Travel

Expand your horizons – and your knowledge – with an educational trip offered by IPFW! Our trips are developed and led by experienced IPFW staff members, who open your eyes to a new world. Check back often to see new educational travel opportunities!

Here are our current offerings with schedules and costs.

The Art of Italy

An amazing 3-week trip to Rome! Visit the home of the Coliseum and the Forum, the Vatican Museum with its Sistine Chapel, and the Borghese Palace, full of beautiful sculptures by Bernini and paintings by Caravaggio. Hosted by IPFW Department of Fine Arts.

Includes round trip airfare from Chicago, lodging, most meals, ground transportation, travel health insurance, and planned activities and events. A $500 balance due 2/6/15 for The Art of Italy, payments must be made through IPFW’s Division of Continuing Studies in Kettler Hall Room 145.

Cost: Community members: $5,750, Students: $5,400 ($6,195 with Tuition)

Travel Fee due dates: Deposit of $500: 2/6/15, Balance of $5,250 for Community Members: 3/13/15. Balance of $4,900 for Students: 3/13/15.

Travel dates: 6/7/15 through 6/28/15

Culinary Traditions of Tuscany

See, taste, and explore authentic Italian foods, and become enchanted by the food culture of Italy. IPFW works with a small local Italian company to offer unique experiences not available to the average traveler to Italy. Trip hosted by IPFW Consumer and Family Sciences.

Includes round trip airfare from Chicago, lodging, most meals, ground transportation, travel health insurance, and planned activities and events.  All payments must be made through IPFW’s Division of Continuing Studies in Kettler Hall Room 145.

Cost: Community members: $4,730, Students: $4,380 ($5174.85 with Tuition)

Travel Fee due dates: Deposit of $500: 2/12/15

Travel dates: 5/23/15 through 6/7/15

About IPFW Educational Travel

Trips are open to the public unless noted otherwise. All have a credit option (additional tuition cost applies). Please refer to Travel Participant Application for payments and refund information. Each trip varies in terms of the specific expenses covered by the registration fees. In general, the following expenses are included in fees:

  • Round trip international flights; housing/accommodations (double or group occupancy)
  • Ground transportation to/from airport is usually included
  • Entrance fees to museums and historical sites is often included, but additional side trips offered are optional
  • Study abroad insurance coverage (including coverage for emergency medical treatment and transportation)
  • Expenses for additional meals, personal items, tips & gratuities, free time activities, admissions and entertainment, and souvenirs are considered out-of-pocket expenses. This cost will be estimated during pre-travel orientation sessions. Each traveler is responsible for their own portion of these expenses
  • To sign up for an international trip you must fill out the Travel Participant Application
