A trip from Venice to Padua to view the ground breaking frescos of the artist Giotto in the Arena Chapel as well as visit the pilgrimage church of Saint Anthony is scheduled. On the way to Florence, travelers will experience the wonderful city of Ravenna, noted for its world class collection of Byzantine mosaics. Lastly, while residing in Florence, travelers will understand why this city was the epicenter of the Italian Renaissance. Visits there will include the Uffizi Museum with paintings such as Botticelli’s Birth of Venus, the Academia Museum with Michelangelo’s David, and the impressive Pitti Palace and Gardens.
