K-12 Educators

IPFW welcomes the interest of educators to advance in their profession with continuing education opportunities. Please explore the information on workshops, degree programs, license renewal, and other resources you may find useful.

Teacher Workshops Note:
The state of Indiana requires teachers to pursue professional development for license renewal. Professional development may be obtained through college credit, contact hours, and Professional Growth Plan Points (PGP).
For information on license renewal, or teachers should talk with a licensing advisor from their university.

The Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) is implementing a new License Verification and Information System (LVIS) that is scheduled to go into effect on May 2, 2011. This system will replace the Teacher Online Licensure System (TOLS) currently used by the IDOE to process Educator licensure requests. In order to prepare for this transfer of systems, NO applications will be accepted by the DOE after March 31, 2011, by paper or TOLS. The IDOE will not accept licensure applications of any form during the month of April. The IDOE will begin accepting licensure applications with the opening of the LVIS system on May 2. See the IDOE website http://www.doe.in.gov/educatorlicensing/ for more information.
