Carol Hahn holds a Bachelor of Music Degree in Piano from Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia, and a Master of Music Degree in Piano from the University of Missouri – Columbia. She has also studied at the Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore, Maryland, and the College – Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati, Ohio.
She has taught piano privately for over 50 years, and has also taught with distinction at the University of Cincinnati College – Conservatory and the University of Missouri. She is beginning her twenty-seventh year of teaching at IPFW. Her students have been frequent award winners in piano competitions in Missouri, Ohio, and Indiana. Many of her students have gone on to receive Bachelors, Masters, and Doctoral degrees in music.
Mrs. Hahn’s principle teachers have been: Joseph Maerz; Naegeli von Bergen Metcalf; Miecyslaw Münz; Raymond Dudley; and Janice Wenger. In addition, she has performed in masterclasses for Bela Nagy, Joerg Demus, Emmanuel Ax, and Alexander Peskanov, among others.
