Symphonic Wind Ensemble


The Indiana University – Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) Symphonic Wind Ensemble is the premiere wind band at IPFW. The ensemble is comprised of the university’s finest wind and percussion students performing cornerstone literature ranging from the Renaissance to tomorrow. Continuously collaborating with leading musical minds of today, the IPFW Symphonic Wind Ensemble has worked with composers including Pulitzer Prize-winner William Bolcom, David Maslanka, John Mackey, Joel Puckett, Ryan Nowlin, Viet Cuong, StevenBryant, and Michael Markowski, among others. The Symphonic Wind Ensemble has performed at numerous conventions and is embarking on creating an album of some of the finest music today, which will be released early next year. The wind ensemble has most recently made their Carnegie Hall debut in New York City in 2016 and is very much looking forward to traveling for the first time to Europe to perform in many of the world’s greatest concert halls including in Gera, Germany – Fort Wayne’s Sister City!
