High school and middle school (students entering grades 7 to 12 in fall 2017) actors and production assistants will work together with IPFW Department of Theatre faculty and staff to stage “Snoopy, the Musical” this summer. Theatre chair Dr. Bev Redman will lead a six-week workshop that takes students through all aspects of putting on a show, both on stage and behind the scenes, that culminates in two staged performances, July 28 and 29, in Studio Theatre. Beverly Redman came to IPFW in January 2015 from Ursinus College, a liberal arts college in the Philadelphia region. Bev holds an M.A. in English from Georgetown University, an M.F.A. in Theatre Directing from the University of California, Irvine, and a Ph.D. in Theatre History, Dramatic Literature and Performance Studies from the joint-campus program of the Universities of California, Irvine and San Diego. She is also a certified teacher of Fitzmaurice Voicework©. She directs shows for the IPFW Department of Theatre as well as well as “Rocky Horror Picture Show” at the Fort Wayne Civic Theatre, has served as the Company Artistic Director for the Savoy Opera Company of Philadelphia; directed Sater and Sheik’s musical, “Spring Awakening,” for the Philadelphia region’s Steelriver Playhouse; and served as the voice and acting coach for Drastic Action Dance Company of New York on a piece about the children of Holocaust survivors.
