The College of Arts and Sciences presents its 2nd annual Symposium on Teaching and Learning, an event that supports IPFW’s teaching mission by enhancing faculty knowledge about the scholarship of teaching and learning. This year’s presenter, Dr. Linda Nilson, is a sociologist and the founding Director of the Office of Teaching Effectiveness at Clemson University. She has published books, chapters, and articles on university teaching and academic careers, and conducts faculty workshops nationally and internationally. She will be speaking about what we know about how people think and learn, and how we can use this information to “teach to how the mind works.”

This lecture is open to the campus community.

Please note that CELT is organizing reading circles about Nilson’s Teaching at Its Best to run during the spring 2012 term. The first 50 to sign up for these will receive a free copy of her book.
