Graduation Information

Psychology Graduation Information:

From the department webpage, click the link titled "Applying for Graduation."

Fill out the graduation application from the Registrar’s Office and submit.

After submitting the application, the audit process will begin to ensure that you have met all of the requirements for the Psychology Major.  You will also be placed on the prospective graduation list and begin receiving information related to graduation.

The audit process is conducted by the College of Arts and Sciences after you register for your final semester of classes.

Upon completion of the audit, you will receive a letter informing you if you have met all of the graduation criteria. If you have not, the letter will specify what else needs to be done.

If you are intending to graduate at the end of the fall semester, the application deadline is June 1. If you are intending to graduate at the end of the spring semester, the application deadline is November 1. If you are intending to graduate at the end of the summer semesters, the deadline is February 1.

Once it is confirmed that you have met the criteria, the Psychology Department secretary will email you. She will inform you of the 3 remaining graduation requirements. Two of these requirements will be submitting research papers that you have already written. One of the papers must be from Psychobiology and the other must be from Cognitive Psychology. The last requirement will be the completion of the psychology exit exam.

Once the papers have been approved, you will receive an email regarding the psychology exit exam. You can take the psychology exit exam in testing services (Kettler Hall, Room 232). Appointment times are available Monday-Saturday. You may call 260-481-6600 to schedule an appointment as soon as you receive the email from the department regarding the exit exam.

**All of the information you need to know about submitting your papers and the exit exam will be provided in the emails from the department secretary**

Submission of the TWO research papers and completion of the exit exam are required in order to graduate. If you are attending and passing your classes with Cs or better you will most likely pass the exit exam. You may retake the exit exam if you fail. You must complete the exit exam by the Friday before finals week. Once you complete the audit, submit your research papers, and complete the exit exam you will receive an email about ordering your cap and gown.
