The IPFW Department of Physics is involved in many educational innovations. These range from our unique laboratory methodology designed to help students learn physics and work with physics rather than having them simply follow a set of directions.
One innovation that we have implemented with partner universities at a number of sites across the United States is using a Journal for Student Advanced Laboratory Papers. The students submit their papers to the Journal. The papers are anonymously reviewed by students at other universities. The purpose of this is to help students write for the correct audience (not the instructor) and to have them understand their investigations through their own writing. This Journal is the Journal of the Advanced Undergraduate Physics Laboratory Investigation (JAUPLI).
